    Track Experience Monza

What a treat, couple laps around Monza, under professional instruction, Drivers Briefing and Sighting lap in a minibus! Spoiled for choice between a Porsche GT3, Ferrari 458 or 488 and Lamborghini Huracan or Gallardo, thanks to the strength of our currency my choices were limited to the Gallardo. Not that its anything to complain about, I would have been happy in my rental. Considering the weather Italy has experienced over the last month, I was relieved to wake up to mist and slight drizzle conditions. Set in the woodlands outside the city of Monza, the park littered with dog walkers and joggers, track seemingly invisible through the forest of trees, nostalgia is palpable,…

    EURoadTrip2018 – Modena to Innsbruck

At the risk of sounding melodramatic, no emotional PDA’s (public display of affection) allowed in our house. So I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate my wonderful wife on our 23rd anniversary (not counting, but confirming). Thanks for you loving support, it’s been real. Enjoy Bali! The first, and only, compromise of the trip. We had planned to return via Stelvio Pass, but chose to rather take in Pagni, Lamborghini & Enzo Ferrari Museums in Modena, take a more direct route back to Mattighofen and enjoy lunch with the Boss and bend her ear with our war stories. Craziest day on the road to date, in the rain, most people &…

    EURoadTrip2018 – World Ducati Week

Blast from the past, great memories of WDW2002 come rushing back. 790 Duke stood their ground in a sea of red, loud & proud and very well received! Kudos to Ducati for allowing us into their domain! (I remember being upset about the non Ducati’s in the parking lot previously, I now have some sympathy for their situation!) Great to see the Ducati Brand growing from strength to strength, even Jorge made an appearance. Still a long way to travel with much to see and do, so we hit the road early. Popped into Pagani, Lamborghini & Enzo Ferrari Museums, decided to overnight in Modena. Mind blowing dinner!!! In desperate need of a…

    EURoadTrip2018 – Lenny in Lucca

Left Saint Raphael for Lucca, via Nice & Monaco. Taking an hour to cover 14kms, we popped back onto the Autostrada to cover some distance quickly. Probably the fastest we have ridden on this trip so far, helps stay awake in the blistering heat. Bikes buzzing everywhere. Lovely to see. Emotions running high as I take the beautiful surroundings, contemplating the highs & lows as the trip draws to a close. Find myself grinning, in my helmet. Again. Gratefully privileged, would be an understatement. But wait! There’s more. Arrive at the ‘Villa’ in Lucca, with no expectations whatsoever. I’ll let the pictures do the talking here… “A Good Year” Refreshing swim, late afternoon…

    Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile Di Torino

And that, my friends, concludes our Italian Automotive Cultural Roadtrip and EICMA 2017. If fuel runs through your veins, then a stop at the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile Di Torino, covering the evolution of Car and its components is a must see. And Turin ain’t too bad either… Hope you enjoyed the journey as much as I did!

    Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile – Gallery

Last day in Italy, quick stop at the National Museum of The Automobile in Turin, covering the evolution of the Automobile. Established in 1932 and refurbed in 2011, by far the best Museum yet, with endless interactive displays and staged period themes to great effect. Well worth the visit.
